2023 Year in Review

Despite what I hoped for last year, 2023 was easily our busiest year yet at Herston Law Group. Our staff grew by adding a second paralegal, and I spent more days in trial in 2023 than ever before. The year was stimulating, stressful, and exhausting. Breaks between trials were few, but I capitalized on some with short backpacking trips in the mountains.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely week in Colorado in August, where we traded the heat and humidity for much more comfortable weather.

My office hosted the first “social” for the Family Law section of the Knoxville Bar Association. It was a hit, and three more followed during the year. I’m glad to see it continue. We should do such things.

My annual continuing legal education seminar for the Knoxville Bar Association was well received. Here are the comments from some who attended the live presentation on December 5:

As for this blawg, I published 111 posts in 2023, bringing the total to 2,102 posts since the blawg began almost 14 years (!!!) ago.

Blawg traffic stayed the same as last year, which was the same as the year before. After years of growth, it seems like site traffic has plateaued. While there are 735 subscribers who signed up to automatically receive each post, I’m convinced I’m only reaching a fraction of the audience who would benefit from reading this content. Aside from more of you sharing helpful content on social media (which I ask you to do at the end of each post), how can this blawg find more readers? If you have suggestions, please share them in a comment below.

Here are the 10 most popular posts of 2023.
