2022 was a busy year in our office. I’m not sure why, but we were busier than ever. I hope things slow down some in 2023.

I turned 50 in 2022. To commemorate that milestone, I signed up to run a 50-mile race two days before my birthday. I spent seven months following a training schedule that gradually increased my mileage to 50- and 60-mile weeks. I was well prepared for race day and finished in nine hours and 25 minutes, which was right at the top third among the other runners.

After focusing on running volume for so long, I was sick of running, so I only ran a dozen times the rest of the summer and concentrated on weightlifting instead. I’m now back to my normal routine of alternating between running and lifting.

I published 152 blawg posts this year, bringing the total to 1,993 posts since February 2010. I’ll hit 2000 posts in early January.

Blawg traffic stayed the same as last year. The busiest day had 731 visitors.

This year I started publishing most blawg posts as podcast episodes. It surprises me that some people prefer listening to these posts instead of reading them, but some do.
