What a year it has been! For our clients, this year brought many settlements and some trials. Family law is challenging, and we are proud of the work we did this year. We made things better for many people. The reach and influence of this blog continues to grow. I published 156 posts this year, bringing the total number of posts to over 1200. I produced several podcasts (if you haven’t heard them, click here to listen). The blog enjoyed another year of record traffic. Those of you who share my content on social media are largely responsible for the success of this site. So, thank you for sharing. After another year of studying the caselaw, we all increased our understanding, sharpened our skills, and hopefully became better family-law attorneys and judges. These 10 posts received the most traffic in 2018: It would be time well spent to take a few minutes and refresh your memory about the issues raised in those posts. On a personal note, 2018 took me on a photography expedition in the Galapagos Islands, where many photos were taken that will appear as future “photos of the week.” My Boston Red Sox won the World Series. And, once again, my Vanderbilt Commodores enjoyed their third consecutive football victory over Tennessee (!!!), a feat that hasn’t occurred in 90 years (and may not occur for another 90). It’s hard to beat a year like that. Here are some photos from 2018 that have nothing to do with Tennessee family law:We were fortunate to spend the entire year in our new offices directly above Mast General Store in downtown Knoxville. We savored the simple pleasures of a stiff drink on the balcony at the end of a long week, going downstairs to Mast for popcorn to satisfy late-afternoon cravings, and working in the natural light from all the 10-foot windows in our offices. We cherished our old friendships and celebrated new ones.
