Niche, a data aggregator that combines ratings from students, parents, and alumni with quantitative data, released its 2023 Best Schools rankings, including the top-performing school districts by state.
The top 10 school districts in Tennessee are:
- Maryville City Schools
- Johnson City Schools
- Williamson County Schools
- Kingsport City Schools
- Germantown Municipal School District
- Alcoa City Schools
- Oak Ridge School District
- Collierville Schools
- Greeneville City Schools
- Dyersburg City School District

- Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet School, Nashville
- Ravenwood High School, Brentwood
- Central Magnet School, Murfreesboro
- Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet High School, Nashville
- Merrol Hyde Magnet School, Hendersonville
- Brentwood High School, Brentwood
- Farragut High School, Knoxville
- Franklin High School, Franklin
- White Station High School, Memphis
- Madison Academic Magnet High School, Jackson

This is the ninth year that Niche has compiled the rankings, which it says are based on data compiled for 92,743 public schools, 30,112 private schools, and 11,820 school districts nationwide.
